After Windows XP the best improvement of Microsoft is Windows 7. It is a new milestone for Microsoft. After the release of Windows Vista many people have changed their mind about Windows Operating System because windows vista was too slow and needed high configuration. The worst thing in Windows Vista was the size. Every day the updates made system root to run out of space.

Windows 7 is a best release. They mad the release at a correct time. Many Windows users started to move to Ubuntu or Mac OS due to virus in XP and the poor performance of Vista. Windows 7 made everything perfect again.

Here are some things I liked about Windows 7

1. Performance:

Windows 7 improved a lot in its performance when we compare it with previous Windows Operating Systems. Processor usage and the memory usage are reduced. The interface itself give a new look and the graphics are very good. Windows 7 reserves 100 MB of Hard Disk partition to keep the boot files so most of the system files are safe.

2. Compatibility:

Windows 7 is compatible with 32 bit and 64 bit applications. It was a big problem in Windows Vista. Widows 7 64 bit creates a folder in the system root as Program Files (x86) where it installs all the 32 bit applications.

The startup repair in Windows 7 is very handy for most of the users. It helps the user to recover from some miner disaster such as virus deleting system file or accidental deletion of system files.

3. Hardware independence:

Windows 7 supports any hardware which is capable of running Windows XP. Here is the link for the minimum requirement to run Windows 7. http://windows.microsoft.com/systemrequirements

As per this link and my experience you can run Windows 7 on a processor with 1GHz speed, 1 GB of RAM is recommended to run Windows 7 with a good speed. If you have a computer with 20 GB hard disk drive, 1GHz processor speed and 1 GB RAM then you can run Windows 7 without any problem.

4. Ease of use:

I found Windows 7 is very easy to use. The new task bar in Windows 7 helps to group the related tasks and once you hover to it, it will bring a tab with all the opened tasks related to the application.

5. Availability:

Windows 7 was announced to be free for a year, the release was called RTC (Release To Candidate). This copy of build was available for a year. That was a smartest way to allow all people who are looking for a best software and want to give a try. As before Microsoft made everyone addicted with Windows.

6. Price:

Windows 7 is priced according to the region such as South East Asia has its own price and Europe has its own price.
